The Flowering of Christ 24

1. We begin our time together by remembering that Rome wasn't built in one day. Very few things are. Our thought system, which is Christ, is so diametrically opposite to the world's thought system. Take a glance out into the world and you won't have to look very far to find evidence of this. The world's occupants are trapped by their own thoughts, and they cannot escape. The thoughts themselves are choking everyone within reach.

2. Then there's Christ, something radically different and entirely freeing and refreshing. Your sisters and brothers notice you and wonder why you aren't angry like they are. Keep modeling love, even if it isn't appreciated. Love may even be labeled as insane, but in reality, it isn't love that's the problem. It's the lack of it. Let's carry on, shall we?

3. 'Mother Mary, can you help us to understand how the body itself responds to Christ as its operating system?'

4. This is an easy one to digest and understand. The ego believes tooth and nail that it is a body. Therefore, the body is used by the ego as its physical representation for all its thoughts, many of which are trapped like mice, unable to find freedom.

5. Christ knows that it is not a body. The body is a communication device of the only thing that has any real value, which is love. Because there isn't anything else competing for space, the body is at ease and relaxed, waiting for its next set of instructions on serving love, which is all that it is really for.

6. You see, the body has been serving the wrong master all these years. For the body to serve Christ and only love is an amazing change in purpose.

1. Let's get into the nitty-gritty today, shall we?

2. 'Mother Mary, why does it say in 'A Course in Miracles' that the body and the earth were designed to separate you from God and now you are saying that God is very much in on the act and that being separate from God is preposterously impossible? It seems like you are now saying that what has been said before isn't exactly true.'

3. It was and still is true as long as you put it in the proper context. It does seem to most people that they are entirely separate from their idea of God, who is somewhere other than here, as part of the experience of being human.

4. 'A Course in Miracles is a commentary on the human experience from the perspective of a Being (Jesus), who was observing it from the outside while looking in on it. It was not written from a human perspective. A reader is forced to ask themselves what the content means to them from their own human experience. We refer to this text as a flawed masterpiece. There is so much in it without context, and it is difficult to apply it.

5. Now, we are weaving the teachings into the human perspective and applying them to everyday life. You may ask why we didn't do this from the get-go. It would have been quite impossible as most readers of the book are completely led by the ego in the beginning. The ego is only softened through the daily lessons. It takes much more time and effort for the soul to take over and for Christ to reign.

6. 'A Course in Miracles' was and still is an ambitious project that opened the door to mysticism for some and closed it to others. It is what it is, as they say.
